Growing up, Carpenter dreamed of playing both lacrosse and basketball at a Division I institution . Carpenter has aspirations of playing both lacrosse and basketball at a Division I institution that will allow her to study forensic science or engineering.
Today, she is living out part of that dream as a lacrosse player at Gardner-Webb University, where she is majoring in Criminal Justice. With aspiriations of a future career in law enforcement or law, she continues to excel both academically and athletically.

Summer Carpenter has been recognized as a US Lacrosse Impact Athlete for her outstanding contributions to the sport and her community. She serves as a powerful role model for young girls, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, using her platform to inspire the next generation of athletes.
Carpenter began her collegiate lacrosse career at Delaware State University as a freshman and now competes at the Division I level for Gardner-Webb University. Her athleticism, work ethic, and leadership have made her a valuable asset to her team.
In high school, Carpenter was a standout athlete across three sports—lacrosse, basketball, and soccer—earning varsity letters in all four years. Her success in multiple disciplines is a testament to her versatility and commitment to excellence
At Gardner-Webb University, Carpenter represents the lacrosse team as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member, advocating for student-athletes and their needs. In addition, she serves as an assistant coach for the middle school lacrosse team at Beaver Country Day School, helping to mentor and develop young players.
